Management System v2

LIMS v2 is a comprehensive system for
management and reporting of laboratory test results.
The first version of LIMS was written in the early 1990s for ASA
Metallurgical Services and has been running successfully with
negligible maintenance for 10 years. A key to the success of LIMS v1
was its modular design - enabling the software to be adapted and
enhanced by the user, as new types of tests (and numerous new UKAS
requirements) became necessary.
LIMS v2 builds on this success, and the experience gained in developing
v1, to offer superior data management and reporting to test
laboratories
everywhere(1) at a modest cost(2).

Designed specifically for
laboratories offering mechanical testing services to construction,
foundry, and material supply companies.- Modern 32bit Windows Relational
Database (requires Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP).
- LAN-ready multiuser or standalone.
- Easily adapted to use
corporate/accreditation logos and colours.
- Comprehensive built-in reporting
to existing letterheads or on plain paper in monochrome or full colour.
- Standard modules include
tensile/compression tests, bend tests, charpy impacts, fracture tests,
macro/hardness, general inspection, and 'Other Tests'.
- 'Other Tests' modules allow
templates to be designed in Rich Text format and are the standard
method of reporting chemical analysis, metallographic, NDT, corrosion
tests etc.
- Uncertainty calculations built-in
for tensile and compression tests.
- Handling of machining requisitions
and subcontracts.
- Uses 'Standard' and individual
client schedules of rates make accurate worksheets and invoices with

LIMS is currently only available in the English language optimised for
UKAS accredited laboratories but
the author would be pleased to advise
on alternative languages and/or accreditation bodies.
2. LIMS licences are on a 'per lab' basis and start from as little as
£5K including a two day installation and training period at the
customer's site.
